Anup Krishna, a renowned orthopedic surgeon in Kerala, India, operated on his 8-year-old daughter on September 23. However, her son died in surgery. The doctor was the one who killed his son on social media. Unable to bear the humiliation, the Kerala doctor eventually committed suicide.

Kilikollu police in Kollam district registered a case of unusual death and began an investigation into the incident. This doctor used to run a hospital called Anup Artho Keyal.

His body was recovered from his home in Kadappakara on Thursday (October 1). He committed suicide by writing “I’m sorry” on the bathroom wall. The girl died a week ago. Officers investigating the incident have taken that into account as well. However, the police have not been able to confirm whether he committed suicide for that reason or not. It is also investigated whether he was threatened online or offline.

On September 23, his seven-year-old daughter was admitted to her father’s hospital. She suffered cardiac arrest during knee surgery. The father himself was operating on the daughter. He was taken to another hospital but could not be saved. Family and locals protested in front of the hospital over the girl’s death.
Anup was charged with negligence. A medical malpractice complaint was filed against him at Kollam East Police Station.

However, several Kerala doctors have also opened his mouth to Anup. They said he was being harassed on social media.

A doctor named Sulfi Nohu wrote on Facebook: “Several doctors did not agree to operate on the girl’s knee in this cowardly situation. Anup only agreed with the risk. Unfortunately, we lost the baby. And after that, the trial has started on social media. Many have also ruled that it is a medical crime. Many have even written that the father himself killed his daughter.

Anup has been depressed ever since. However, researchers are investigating whether he committed suicide because of that. They are talking to the family and the wife.
