Damage to religious sentiments, legal notice to Tisha

Dhaka: Four people, including actress Nusrat Imroz Tisha, received legal notifications for allegedly hurting the religious feelings of followers of traditional religions.

On Monday (October 12), attorney Sumon Kumar Roy sent the notice on behalf of Liton Krishnadas.

Lawyer Sumon Kumar Roy told banglanews that Vijaya Natak has mocked the traditional community, portrayed women in controversial roles, encouraged conversions and incited communalism. A notice was also sent to actor Irfan Sajjad, composer Saleh Uddin Shoaib Chowdhury and director Abu Hayat Mahmud Bhuiyan along with Tishara. If the drama is not withdrawn within the next seven days, we will take a legal recourse.

According to the notice, a play called ‘Vijaya’ was performed on the occasion of Durga Puja. As can be seen in the play, the character of the woman belonging to traditional religions has been subtly murdered. Hindu men have been portrayed as drunk, cruel, incompetent, and indifferent. Through which alienation and conversion have been fostered in a very subtle and planned way.

After the release of the trial version of the work, followers of traditional religions were shocked and stunned. Therefore, out of respect for the traditional religious sentiments and sentiments of the Hindu community, the controversial play ‘Vijaya’ was called for withdrawal within seven days.
