He used to go to Dakhil from Madrasa and introduce himself as a medical specialist. The so-called medical center was installed in a multi-story building in Thanapara, the heart of the city of Pabna. He used to identify 42 diseases by placing the patient’s hand on one of his organization’s instruments. He was arrested on Wednesday (October 21) around 10 pm at a company called Uni World Service Limited on the fourth floor of an eight-story building near the Pabna Sadar police station. A case was filed against him at the Pabna Sadar police station on Thursday (October 22) afternoon.

Speaking with the police and employees of the organization, it emerged that Akbar Hossain had rented three floors in a multi-story building. In this seemingly glamorous office, he was the so-called omniscient doctor. He used to introduce himself as an Ayurvedic and allopathic physician. He used to give a supposed treatment through the computer in his office. He used to ask patients to put their hands on his machine (scanning machine). He used to tell patients that he diagnosed and treated at least 42 diseases right away. Taking advantage of the simplicity of ordinary patients, he used to charge Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000 per patient for treatment and medications.

Akbar Hossain, meanwhile, hired about fifty men and women to run his business with the guarantee of an attractive salary. He used to pay a commission if he could bring patients in addition to the salaries of the health workers he hired.

Farzana Laboni, a health worker at Uni World Service, said she believed in the owner of the business and convinced several of her relatives and neighbors to come to the clinic for treatment. One thousand rupees for manual scanning and then as a diagnostic and medicine package, eight to ten thousand rupees were taken from them.

Since no patient recovered even after completing the course of medicine, the patients asked him various questions. He said that the health worker had doubts at the time. Abu Taleb, Nadira, Afrin, Sharmin, Salma, Nazmul, Azizul, and several other health workers from the organization reported similar bad experiences.

Monira Parveen, a former health worker at the company, said she decided to resign because she had doubts about the director’s medical practice. All those who were hired as health workers understood the problem and demanded their arrears. In this Akbar Hossain initiated various excuses. They also briefed some journalists on the matter.

Pabna Sadar Police Officer-in-Charge (CO) Nasim Ahmed said police raided the Uni World Service office on Wednesday night after receiving information from victims working in the organization. Akbar Hossain, owner and director of the institution, was unable to show any medical degree certificates. Your organization’s approval didn’t even show a permit to take a health exam. He said he had passed the submission of the madrasa. So he could not give a good answer on how the doctor is treating before his name.

Akbar Hossain has been arrested in the case and sent to jail through the court.

Pabna General Hospital Consultant. Aqsad al-Masur Anon said it had never seen a machine at home or abroad that could detect 42 diseases simultaneously by touch. He does not know that any hospital has such a system. The matter is completely misleading.

Civil Surgeon Pabna. Mehdi Iqbal said that no health care organization called Uni World Service has received his approval. The district health department does not even know anything about this landslide. Legal action will be taken in this regard.
