The salaries of workers working in government offices on a daily wage basis have been increased by another 100 rupees. On Wednesday, the finance department of the finance ministry issued an office order.
As a result of the new order, skilled workers who work regularly in various government offices in the Dhaka and Chittagong City Corporation areas will receive a salary of Tk 800 from now on. So far they have been receiving Rs 500 at the last fixed salary in 2016.
In addition, the wages of irregular unskilled workers have also increased. From now on, they will receive a salary of Rs 565, which was Rs 485 before.
On the other hand, the daily salary of regular skilled workers in the divisional cities and other corporate areas of the city has also been increased by 100 rupees more. From now on they will receive a daily salary of Rs 600. That used to be 500 rupees. And unskilled irregular workers will receive 550 rupees, which was previously 450 rupees.
Furthermore, the daily salary of regular skilled workers in the districts and upazilas has been increased by another 100 Tk. Before they earned 450 rupees, now they will receive 550 rupees. And unskilled irregular workers used to earn Rs 400, now they will get Rs 500.
However, in the case of hiring with daily wages, the number of workers must be approved by the corresponding authority, the finance department said in the order.
