Chittagong-Hathazari Highway blocked by burning tires.
Chittagong: Chittagong University (CU) Chhatra League leaders and activists have blocked the road following news of controversial speaker Mamunul Haque attending a meeting in Hathazari.
On Friday (November 28) around 12:15 pm, the Chittagong-Hathazari highway was set on fire at gate number one of UC.
Rezaul Haque Rubel, president of the university’s Chhatra League, told banglanews that he had taken a stand on the road to prevent the arrival of controversial speaker Mamunul Haque in Hathazari. No one who criticizes Bangabandhu will be spared by any means.
Hathazari Police Officer-in-Charge (CO) Rafiqul Islam told banglanews that some children blocked the road. They have been removed. Currently the traffic is normal.
Earlier on Thursday (November 26), the BCL announced its resistance to Mamunul Haque at a protest rally in front of the Chittagong Press Club.
