Criminals cut off the wrists of an expat’s wife

While praying in Laxmipur, criminals like Bakhate Zahid Hossain cut the wrists of Maryam Begum (38), the wife of an expatriate. At that time, they also hacked and injured her daughter Nadia Sultana (7). Two of them were rescued in critical condition and taken to Laxmipur Sadar Hospital. Later, as their condition was critical, the doctor on duty sent them to Dhaka for better treatment.
The incident took place at Dewan’s home in the Balashpur village of the Bashikpur union of Sadar upazila around 8:30 pm on Saturday. The injured were Maryam Begum, wife of Saudi expatriate Nabi Ullah, and her 8-year-old daughter Sadia Sultana. They have sharp weapon marks on both hands and head. Police arrested two people on suspicion of being involved in the incident around 10 p.m. However, the police could not confirm the cause of the incident.

Local Amanat Ullah said residents rushed to the site after hearing the screams of his wife Maryam Begum from the home of expat Nabi Ullah at night. At that moment, they saw the mother and daughter lying in blood. The injured expat’s wife told locals that a scoundrel named Zahid attacked and injured them. At one point, two of them were rescued from the scene and taken to Laxmipur Sadar Hospital. Later, seeing their condition deteriorating, the doctor sent them to Dhaka.

Among them, housewife Maryam Begum had her wrists amputated and her daughter Nadia Sultana’s wrists were cut off. Since their condition is critical, they have been sent to Dhaka for advanced first aid treatment.
