The plaintiff and Sinha’s sister, Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous, petitioned the court to include Cox’s Bazar Police Superintendent ABM Masud Hossain as a defendant in the murder case of retired Army Major Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan. Cox’s Bazar Chief Justice Tamanna Farah filed the petition in court around 12 noon Thursday. The court is waiting for the order after hearing the request.

The plaintiff’s attorney, lead attorney Mohammad Mostafa, told a news conference that Cox’s Bazar Police Superintendent ABM Masud Hossain was obstructing the investigation of Major Sinha’s murder case. He has written to the dismissed OC Pradeep Kumar Das and Inspector Liaquat, charged in the Sinha murder case, to give them a division in prison. You will cooperate with the accused in various ways. In other words, SP ABM Masud Hossain is using his official effectiveness on behalf of the accused. So I have filed a criminal petition to include you as a defendant in the Major Sinha murder case. The court became aware of the request and waited for the order after hearing it.

Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous, plaintiff in the case and Major Sinha’s older sister, said that SP ABM Masud Hossain has been cooperating indirectly and directly with the defendant since the beginning of the incident. He has abused power. Major Sinha has defamed. The day after the incident, he told the media that he had found yaba and drugs in Major Sinha’s car. As a superintendent of police, you cannot say. He constantly obstructs the investigation.

Major Sinha’s sister, Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous, filed 10 new complaints in court. Here are 10 complaints:

1. Show abusive comments.

2. Abuse of powers in important offices.

3. Teach Inspector Liaquat how to dispose of responsibility for the case after the murder.

4. Major (retired) Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan was injured and was reluctant to provide medical treatment.

5. After the witnesses in the police case were arrested and handed over to the court, an anonymous kidnapping case was filed.

. The defendant in this case, Pradeep Kumar Das, was sent on medical leave.

. The defendant Pradeep Das received a letter requesting a division in jail.

. Who was with the defendant Pradeep Kumar Das? If the RAB wanted to question them, it was too late to dispatch the defendants, which created complications and transferred many stakeholders.

9. According to a bogus case brought by the police after the incident, Major (Retired) Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan was defamed and humiliated by speaking in the media on behalf of the accused.

10. Following the incident, the defendant (ABM Masud Hossain) wrote a false statement to the media and the people of Shamlapur reported the theft to the occupants of the vehicle. At that time, the police tried to stop the car at the checkpoint. But he falsely said that the occupant of the car pulled out a gun and tried to shoot the police. The police fired in self-defense. He said they searched the car and recovered 50 yaba pills, some cannabis and two bottles of foreign liquor, which was not true at all. The Cox’s Bazar Police Superintendent has tried to deflect the actual incident by insulting the murdered Major Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan.

By mentioning these 10 reasons, the plaintiff requested to include the Police Superintendent as a defendant in the case. Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous said: “My expectation for the court is that, in light of these allegations, the court will include SP Masood as a defendant in the case.”

Retired commander Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan was shot dead by police at the Shamlapur checkpoint in the Baharchhara Union of Teknaf on the night of July 31. Following the incident, the police filed two cases at Teknaf Police Station and one at Ramu Police Station. Sinha’s sister later filed a murder case in a Cox’s Bazar court, charging nine police officers. The RAB has arrested 13 people in the murder case. Of these, 12 have given confessional statements under section 164 in court. Only the looted CO from Teknaf Police Station, Pradeep Kumar Das, did not give a statement.
