A young woman has been raped while visiting her boyfriend on the beach at Cox’s Bazar. Police arrested a man named Osman Sarwar (28) for being involved in the incident. Police arrested him at Laboni Point on Cox’s Bazar Beach Thursday afternoon.

Munir-ul Gias, police officer in charge of Cox’s Bazar Sadar, said the victim was presented to a man on a mobile phone. On Wednesday afternoon, the young woman arrived from Chakaria to meet her boyfriend in the Cox’s Bazar beach area. The victim’s mobile phone was turned off after the victim reached the beach. After a long wait, tourists rented umbrellas in the Laboni Point area of the beach for the night. At one point in the night, Osman said the girl was taken to safety. He then took her to a secluded place next to the Urmi restaurant and raped her.
It added that Osman Sarwar, a defendant at Labani Point on Cox’s Bazar Beach, was arrested Thursday afternoon after receiving the complaint. The girl has been admitted to the One Stop Crisis Center (OCC) of the Sadar Hospital.
