According to Indian media reports, the couple named Srihari and Aishwarya are cousins. The two fell in love and decided to get married. The two fled the house last month for that purpose. The family approached the police looking for them. They were found in Chennai and returned.

Police on patrol in Krishnanagar on Saturday night detected suspicious activity at Srihari and Aishwarya’s home. The brutal incident came to the fore after the search.

The police discovered that Srihari and Aishwarya had been poisoned to death. Even 10 km away, the bodies of the two were burned in the river.

Later, two half-burned bodies were recovered from the river bank.

Two members of two families have confessed to killing their siblings to save the family honor. One of the accused is Srihari’s uncle, Ramu, and the other is the girl’s brother, Charan. The police have filed a murder case against the two.

Bihal Nagar City CSP Ajit Yadav said police were looking for suspicious activity at his home in Krishnanagar on Saturday night. The real truth comes out only after questioning. The two were later arrested. The incident is now under investigation.
