Georgia Secretary of State Brad Rafensberger announced a recount of votes in the state’s presidential election. He says there are 4,179 votes yet to be counted.
In addition, around 6,000 votes sent by members of the military are now being called. He said they will also be counted if local time arrives within Friday.
He said it is difficult to announce the results in Georgia at this time. The margin of votes is so small that it is necessary to count it.
“Our interest in elections extends beyond the borders of Georgia,” said Brad Rafensberger. The final count of the Georgia elections will have an impact on the entire country, that’s normal.
Rafensberger then left without answering any questions. His aide, Gabriel Sterling, said the reason for the recount was that the gap between the two candidates was too small.
He said they did not see any major irregularities in the election.
