In early 2015, Bill Gates warned that the world was going to fall into an epidemic. “I think in the coming days, the United States will do a better job of controlling this (epidemic),” he told CNN.
Bill Gates added: “When I spoke of the epidemic in 2015, I feared many more deaths. So this virus will be more deadly than it is now. We haven’t gotten into that bad situation yet. But one thing that strikes me as strange is that the economy has suffered more than I predicted five years ago from the devastation caused by the epidemic in the United States and the world economy.
Bill Gates said his foundation is funding research on vaccine innovation. He added: ‘We are very active. We are part of an association (Coalition for Epidemic Preparatory Innovation). We have funded more from the US government.
The Coalition for Innovation in Epidemic Preparedness is funded by various governmental, non-governmental and civic organizations. The organization’s mission is to fund research on vaccine development and to distribute vaccines around the world in case of emergency.
