Investigators in Israel have been able to isolate a key antibody against the coronavirus, the Reuters news agency reported. The study was conducted in the country’s main biological laboratory, said Defense Minister Naftali Bennett. He described the move as an important step in developing a possible treatment for the coronavirus epidemic.
Bennett said in a statement that the antibody, called a monoclonal neutralizing antibody, was developed by the Institute for Biological Research (IIBR). These antibodies can inactivate the coronavirus-causing virus from within the wearer’s body.
Bennett visited the IIBR last Monday. There he was informed of important discoveries in the antidote to the coronavirus.
IIBR Director Sumel Sapira said its antibody formula has been patented. Any international manufacturer can produce it subject to permission.
In Israel, IIBR continues to try to treat and develop a coronavirus. Respiratory disease caused by the virus, Covid-19 is doing several things, including blood tests of people who have recovered.
According to the May issue of the journal Science Direct, such samples produce antibodies in the body of the recovered person. These are widely seen as the key to potential healing. The antibody found by IIBR was monoclonal, that is, it was taken from a single recovered cell, and therefore a potentially more powerful way of developing medical procedures. Other areas where antibody treatment is used are polyclonal, which use antibodies made from multiple cells.
Israel is one of the first countries to close its borders to deal with the coronavirus situation. It imposes strict restrictions to prevent internal crown outbreaks. In the country, 18,247 people were infected and 235 died.
In the statement, Bennett said: ‘I am proud of the staff of the Biological Institute, who have made great progress. Antibodies or passive vaccines attack the virus and inactivate it in the body.
MigVax, another research team in the country, also said they were in the final stages of development of the first coronavirus vaccine. Last week, it received an investment of বিনিয়োগ 12 million to speed up clinical trials.
