Five people participated in the auction, including Mahmud Mollah, who bought the rebars and rebar cutting machines at the highest price of 49,000 taka.

The chief revenue officer told reporters: “Despite our repeated warnings, no one paid attention. So these have been put up for auction. Now, these are government assets. No one can catch it except the one who bought it at auction. “

Later, Mayor Atiqul Islam went to Gulshan Road No. 6. Several tons of rods placed in front of the building under construction in house number 9 were seized. One person bought these rods for 8 lakh 55 lakhs.

Mezbaul Hasan, CEO of Instar Limited, was also fined Tk 1.5 lakh.

At that time, said Mayor Atiqul, no one will be able to occupy the government road. The campaign will take place in different areas of the capital once a week.

He described the campaign as a “strong message” for the occupants of the roads and sidewalks, saying: “They are such great manufacturers.” But people have occupied the roads and sidewalks. Even after saying it many times, they didn’t listen. That is why this campaign has been carried out.

“It just came to our attention then. Wherever building materials can be found on roads and sidewalks. It will be confiscated and put up for auction.”
