The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the largest organization in the Muslim world, has strongly condemned French President Emmanuel Macho’s announcement not to refrain from publishing cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). “The OIC strongly condemns the continued desecration of religious symbols by France by hurting the feelings of Muslims,” the group said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Amin Kurdi, secretary general of Darul Iftar in Lebanon, said in a statement that “French President Macho’s insults to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) will spread hatred and animosity among the people.” Insulting the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in the name of freedom will create hatred and religious conflict between tribes.

There is also a storm of condemnation in Kuwait for the growing hatred in France.

The head of the Kuwaiti National Assembly, Marjuk Al Ghanem, has strongly condemned the publication of cartoons of the Prophet (PBUH). At a press conference, he demanded that urgent measures be taken to stop the desecration of all religions and beliefs in the world, including Islam, through diplomatic activities.

Ahmed al-Fazl, the country’s foreign minister, has called for greater diplomatic activity in the Muslim world to prevent extremism in the name of independence. The University of Qatar has indefinitely postponed the celebration of the France-Qatar Cultural Week from October 25 to 29 in response to demands from Qatar University students protesting the publication of a cartoon of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Apart from that, the main Qatari company, Al Mirah Consumer Goods, has started boycotting all kinds of French products. The call for a boycott of French products began on social media shortly after French President Machiavelli announced that he would not stop publishing cartoons. Since then, various trading companies in the Arab and Muslim world, including Qatar and Kuwait, have begun to boycott products made in France. Source: Al Jazeera
