Complaint against Nixon Chowdhury in the Cabinet Division

Faridpur-4 Mojibur MP Rahman Chowdhury (Nixon) has misbehaved with local administration officials, including Deputy Commissioner (DC), Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) for the election of Charbhadrasan Upazila Parishad of Faridpur.

He and his supporters have threatened and insulted the executive magistrates in charge of the elections, including DC-UNO, in highly defamatory and inaudible language.

Faridpur DC Atul Sarkar has written to the cabinet department to take necessary action in this regard, saying the matter goes against the code of conduct. The Cabinet Division has written to the Electoral Commission (EC) to take legal action in this regard. The fight continues in the office area, including the secretariat, the heart of the administration.

The letter sent to the EC on Monday said that the by-election for the post of president of Charbhadrasan Upazila Parishad took place on October 10. For the sake of fairness and fairness of the elections, the required number of Executive Magistrates is appointed according to the demand of the Electoral Commission and the local Assistant Returning Officers.

Earlier, in a letter addressed to the cabinet secretary, DC Atul Sarkar, said that Mojibur Rahman Chowdhury (Nixon) had telephoned DC Atul Sarkar to apologize for the appointment of an executive magistrate by the Election Commission on the occasion of the election. He expressed various fears, including blocking the road if his supporter was defeated by the appointment of a magistrate.

The letter further stated that in the elections held on Saturday, the ship symbol candidate supported by Nixon Chowdhury won by more than 11,000 votes. But at 8:30 pm in the post-election public meeting, the winning candidate violated the electoral code of conduct. Kawshar and members of parliament and his supporters spoke out against the deployment of 12 magistrates and praised the local district administration.

He threatened and insulted the Deputy Commissioner and the District Magistrate in a very defamatory and inaudible manner. His followers chanted several unpleasant slogans that are unimaginable for a Member of Parliament or a sane person.

When a person was briefly detained by the AC Land of Bhanga Upazila for violating the electoral code of conduct, he insulted the UN of Charbhadrasan in highly indecent language.

The extremely defamatory and indecent comments against the Deputy Commissioner and the District Magistrate are an insult to the traditional institution like the District Administration that coordinates all kinds of development activities at the district level.

Such disparaging statements will send the wrong message about the success of the government to the local population. It will also create extreme obstacles in the way of working with the honesty and fairness of the field administration. DC requested to take the necessary measures in this regard.

Helaluddin Ahmed, Chairman of the Bangladesh Administrative Services Association and chief secretary of the local government department, told Jugantar on Monday night that according to the electoral code of conduct, a member of parliament cannot participate in local elections in no way.
