A high-level BNP delegation is visiting the village of Noagaon in the Habipur junction of Shalla upazila of Sunamganj to inspect the situation after the attack and looting of Hindu homes. The delegation left Dhaka on Saturday (March 20) morning.

The delegation, led by BNP Vice President and Supreme Court Defense Attorney Nitai Roy Chowdhury, also includes BNP Leader Gautam Chakraborty, Nipun Roy Chowdhury, Secretary Member of the Women’s and Children’s Rights Forum.

Nipun Roy Chowdhury said: “We are going there to stand alongside the oppressed people under the leadership of the acting chairman of the party, Tareq Rahman.” The only thing our leader says is that the BNP will support the oppressed people wherever there is torture. Because BNP is a political party that believes in religious values.

Expressing deep concern over the attack and looting of Hindu homes in Noagaon on Wednesday, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul said on Thursday (March 16): “No evil force can ever rise up with the courage of a united people.” All communities in this country must not be confused by any provocation and must now build resistance against the evildoers who are destroying communal unity. Those who are brutally attacking minorities are the enemies of humanity. “

“I strongly condemn the vandalism of the houses of the Hindu minority community by criminals in Shalla upazila of Sunamganj. I demand the immediate arrest and punishment of the attackers in the houses of the Hindu minority community.

It is worth mentioning that supporters of Maulana Mamunul Haque, the central leader of Hefazat, attacked, looted and destroyed 6 houses in Noagaon village on Wednesday, March 18. During this time, 5 town temples were vandalized. The violence was carried out in response to Maulana Mamnul Haque’s alleged status from the Facebook ID of a young man named Jhumon Das Apan from the village of Noagaon. Earlier, on March 15, Maulana Mamunul Haque, Hifazat’s central deputy general secretary, spoke at the Dirai stadium in Sunamganj. Hefazat’s central leaders, including Mamunul Haque, delivered provocative religious speeches at the time.
