Nazrul Islam, OC of the Sadar Dakshin Police Station, said the girl’s mother had filed a case against the three in the Paduar Bazar Bishbrod area of the district on Monday (September 14).
The detainees are the bus driver Arif Hossain Sohel (28) and his accomplice Babu Sheikh (22).
The two arrested have been sent to jail through the court. However, another defendant in the case, bus supervisor (32) Alam, is on the run, police said.
OC Nazrul said: “The girl went to her cousin’s house in Abdullahpur, Dhaka last Friday (September 11). On Monday, she left her sister’s house and arrived at Dhaka’s Sayedabad Bus Terminal to return home. From there, the girl left for Shasnagachha in the city of Comilla on a Tisha Plus transport bus at around 11:30 pm.
“On the way, the driver did not take the girl to the Shasnagachha bus stop, but instead took her to the Paduar Bazar Biswaroad area.”
Referring to the case, Comilla Sadar Dakshin (investigation) model police station inspector, investigating officer Kamal Krishna Dhar, said the driver and aide locked the doors and windows of the bus around 4 a.m. Tuesday and raped to the girl in various ways. Later, when the driver got off the bus, the assistant and the supervisor took the girl off the bus and took her to Babu Sheikh’s house in the Paduar Bazar area and raped her again.
Later, around 8 in the morning, they took the sick girl out of the house and told her to leave. Later, the girl informed her mother about the incident on her mobile phone.
Later, the girl’s mother went to the Paduar Bazar Bishbrod area around 2pm on Tuesday and filed a case against all three. An attempt is being made to arrest the other defendant in the case, the police officer said.
The girl’s mother said: “My daughter used to work in a garment factory in Gazipur. She moved home 5 months ago due to a coronavirus condition.
“Last Friday she went to Dhaka looking for work and went to her cousin’s house. The victim was heading home from there. “
