The threat was made at a press conference of the Unity Council of the Bangladesh Cable Operators Association (COAB) at the National Press Club on Wednesday.

SM Anwar Parvez, founding president of Coabe, demanded that the problem be resolved within the next seven days. It will be done. “

Only network TV channels have government-approved foreign pay channels in addition to free channels, he said.

Parvez said: “Currently, there are 4 foreign pay channel distributors in Bangladesh. Among them, Jadu Vision Limited has been doing business in Bangladesh since 2010 as a distributor for Star Group (Star Plus, Star Jalsa, National Geographic, Star Gold and Life OK). I have been conducting non-stop business with this organization for the past 10 years. “

He alleged that local and foreign employees employed at Jadu Vision for the past few months have been behaving rudely only towards the operators.

He said: “Under various pretexts, they are shutting down their payment channels amid this epidemic.”

Parvez complained that although all of Jadu Vision’s fees were paid to operators until last June, since then they have been shutting down operators’ payment channels under various pretexts.

When asked about the excuse, Parvez said: “If the payment of one or two months is due, the connection will be cut, which has never been done before.”

Parvez said that more than 5 billion viewers could not watch the group’s channels as the supply of channels was cut off on 7 to 8 major networks.

When asked how many arrears operators have, Parvez said: “We don’t want to call it arrears. We are willing to pay all fees as soon as our problems are resolved.”

Regarding the problem, Parvez said: “They are using IP Tanzit to bring only a section of merchants outside of Dhaka into business, which is creating a volatile situation in different areas, including Chittagong. This is creating problems between the two types of cable merchants in the area.

“Even if they pay their bills, they don’t give any receipt for the renewal fee. As a result, only the operators don’t get proof of payment. As a result, opacity is being created and the government is losing revenue.”

Receipts for payment channel renewal fees paid to cable operators and a quick fix to the illegal cable business through Jadu Digitar, a subsidiary of Jadu Vision Ltd.

Jadu Vision is owned by Navidul Haque, son of the late Anisul Haque, Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation.

Kunal Deshmukh, CEO of Jadu Vision Limited, told bdnews24.com: “Jadu Vision has not increased the subscription charges and they are spreading rumors about it.

“The leaders of this organization want to raise money from the merchants in the organization and pay our bills, which cannot be a healthy business practice. They haven’t paid any bills since last June.”

Kunal Deshmukh said: “Magic Vision owes a large amount to various cable operators. They have requested this move without paying it.”

Kunal said that Jadu Vision has been operating with the government VAT tax. That is why we are deprived of the actual bill. “

Kunal also claimed that he did not give any kind of connecting magic vision outside of Dhaka.

Kunal demanded that the government enforce a government-approved universal subscription agreement between cable operators and payment channel providers.
