The situation in Ladakh has not changed even after successive meetings in Russia, reports Anandabazar, an influential media outlet in West Bengal, India. China has reportedly refused to withdraw troops from the Royal Line of Control (LAC) in Ladakh.

On Thursday, Indian Foreign Minister S. Jayashankar and Chinese Foreign Minister and State Councilor Wang Yi held two rounds of talks. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov was also present at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) luncheon for the first time. In the second meeting of the evening, Jayashankar and Wang discussed the situation in Ladakh.

Citing sources, Anandabazar further said that Wang agreed to hold talks at the military and diplomatic level to keep the peace on the border. He said the People’s Liberation Army is unlikely to withdraw from the Finger area north of Pangong Lake at the moment.
