The source of the Corona epidemic is not China, but India or Bangladesh. This has been stated in a recent study published by the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The study was published in the influential UK-based medical journal Lancet.
In the study, the scientists claimed that people and wildlife could have spread the virus by drinking water from the same source during the intense heat in the region last year. They also have evidence of this. In the study, the scientists said that the lack of water caused wild animals like monkeys to fight fiercely with each other and this, of course, increased the chances of human-wildlife contact.
The Chinese team used phylogenetic analysis to find the source of the corona virus. According to them, the least mutated form may be the original form of the virus. And India and Bangladesh have had the lowest crown conversion. From this, Chinese researchers claim that the first coronavirus infection did not occur there. Rather, it first spread to places like India and Bangladesh.
In addition to India and Bangladesh, the Chinese researchers also named Australia, Russia, Serbia, Italy, Greece, the United States, and the Czech Republic as possible sources of corona.
However, many experts disagree with the Chinese claim. David Robertson, head of the Department of Viral Genomics and Bioinformatics at the University of Glasgow, said the Chinese scientists’ research was flawed. The authors have avoided data on the extent of the epidemic, so that the emergence and spread of the virus in China can be clearly seen.
