Hafeez Touhidul Islam, who was killed in Lohagara, Chittagong, did not commit suicide, but was tied to a room that night and tortured to death, relatives claimed.
The leader of the Chhatra League of Bar Aulia University College, Ariful Islam, led 10/12 youth to tie him up in a room and beat him for allegedly beating him. His relatives claim that Touhid is trying to commit suicide by hanging himself after his death as a result of a random beating.
In a video message that went viral on social media before his death, Hafez Touhidul Islam feared that he would be killed in his sleep at night. As a result, the demand from his relatives to kill him grew stronger.
Police recovered the suspended body of Mohammad Touhidul Islam, 22, Al-Quranul professor Hakim Adarsh Hefzkhana in Lohagara, Chittagong, from the Elias building in front of Bar Aulia University College on Wednesday morning. The deceased was identified as Touhid, the son of Shamsul Islam of Shamsu Member Para of the Chunti Union.
A 1 minute and 14 second video message went viral on social media Facebook after the death. Md. Ismail, a teacher at the safe house, said that around 10 pm on the day of the incident, 10/12 local youths insulted and beat Touhid. He said that he and Hafez Tauhidul Islam were locked in a room before his death.
In this regard, said Touhid’s uncle Mohammad Ali, a youth group led by Bar Aulia University BCL leader Ariful Islam beat Touhid alleging rape. I was present at the scene when the body was unloaded from the hanging position. But Tauhid’s face and eyes were normal; He said there were no signs of suicide in his eyes.
Touhid’s father, Shamsul Islam, said that my son did not commit suicide. He claimed that he was assassinated under Arif’s leadership.
When asked about this, the leader of the Chhatra League, Ariful Islam, said: “I went to the place after hearing the noise.” But since it was a rape problem, I left immediately. He said he was not involved in Touhid’s beating.
The officer in charge of the Lohagara Police Station (investigation) Rashedul Islam said that the autopsy report has not yet been received. The murder or suicide will be known after the report arrives. Appropriate legal action will be taken in this regard after receiving the report. He also said that in this incident there has been a case of incitement to suicide.
