The BCL has declared Nurul Haque Nur, former Vice President of the Central Student Parliament of Dhaka University (Daksu), unwanted on campus. In addition, the organization has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to detain the defendant accused of raping a DU student.

The announcement was made by the Chairman of the Bangladesh Chhatra League, Sanjit Chandra Das, at a protest rally organized by the Dhaka University branch of the Dhaka Chhatra League at the foot of the Raju anti-terror sculpture adjacent to the TSC of the university on Sunday afternoon.

The demonstration also demanded the arrest and trial of all those involved in the rape at MC College, Khagrachhari and Savar in Sylhet.

Sanjit said: “It is a shame for us that our sister was raped by some mentally deranged university students, including the leader of her organization, who are campaigning to save those rapists. The Bangladesh Student Rights Council suffers from a mental disorder. They need treatment. They are blaming the Chhatra League for the crime.

He said: ‘We have seen a sector of civil society cleaning up these criminals. I declare that those who speak on behalf of this rapist and those accused of rape are not wanted on the Dhaka University campus. If they are not arrested within 48 hours, a violent movement will form with BCL activists across the country.

Al-Nahyan Khan Joy, central president of the Chhatra League, ordered that the rapists be handed over to the police as soon as they saw them.

Calling Nur, former Daksh vice president, playwright, Joy said Nur was elected vice president with the help of the rumors. With this he has dishonored the students of Dhaka University.

Writer Bhattacharya, central secretary general of the BCL, said that the BCL has always fought against rape. The top leader of the organization raped the sister who wiped off her sweat and cooked the food with her own part of the movement. With this they have raped the University of Dhaka.

Raisa Nasser, a former Daksh member, said the rapist could be anyone. Powerful or popular, it cannot be saved under any umbrella. Strict justice must be ensured so that Bangladesh does not become a sanctuary for rapists.

Saddam Hussein, general secretary of the DU BCL and former Daksh AGS, who was in charge of organizing the rally, demanded justice for the DU student.

He said: ‘Those who have given the political coverage of the rape case, they have to unmask. Those who want to cover up the cry of persecution with populist propaganda must be punished. All kinds of rapes in Dhaka-Sylhet-Khagrachari must be brought to justice.
