Mohammad Yasin, alias Ratul, became friends with the victim. One day some friends went to a launch together. Later he got off at Sadarghat and ran away with the woman’s phone. He started cheating in the name of spreading private videos.
On Monday, members of the CID Cyber Police Center arrested Yasin of Bangla Motor on the basis of the allegations. During his arrest, they recovered two mobile phones and 10 SIM cards used in fraud and blackmail. It is known that Yasin used to run four fake Facebook IDs and nine Gmail accounts on her mobile phone. By using them, he has cheated with women. Sometimes I used to cheat by speaking in a woman’s voice through the app. During preliminary questioning, Yassin pleaded guilty.
CID Special Police Superintendent Rezaul Masud told Prothom Alo that the victim filed a complaint at the Cyber Police Center a few days ago. After that, the police started surveillance. They get the truth from the accusation. In view of this, the plaintiff filed a case against Yasin under the Digital Security Act and the Pornography Control Act at the Shahjahanpur Police Station. On Tuesday, Yassin made a confessional statement under section 164 in court. If convicted, he could face up to seven years in prison and a fine of Tk 2 lakh.
