At the end of the waiting period, at 12pm, the sky over Dhaka turned colorful with lantern light and fireworks. Fireworks can be seen exploding from the roofs of almost every building. The roofs of many buildings were lit up.

Every year, on the thirty-first night, young people gather at TSC, dancing and singing to welcome the new year. However, this time the police reinforced security in the area since all kinds of meetings were prohibited outside.

Also, the festival was not as usual at TSC as the university was closed, but more young people gathered in the Shaheed Minar area.
