The caretaker, who was arrested at midnight Monday in the Mizmiji Kandapara incident in Siddhirganj, was called “Nana” by the victims.

The arrested Abu Bakkar (48) is the son of Adullah Miah from the village of Hossainpur in Senbagh upazila of Noakhali.

Siddhirganj OC Kamrul Farooq Police Station said Abu Bakkar had been arrested on charges of raping two sisters.

Siddhirganj Police Deputy Inspector Alamgir Hossain said that when locals informed him in the evening, police went to the scene and broke the locked door from inside a room on the sixth floor of the building and arrested him.

Subsequently, the girls’ parents filed a case.

The father of the two girls said that Abu Bakkar was called Nana by his two daughters because he lived in the same area.

On October 5, the caregiver called the teens on the way to their aunt’s home.

At that time, he raped them on the ground floor of the building with a towel over his face and Abu Bakkar threatened not to tell anyone about the incident.

Later, the two sisters informed their families about the incident. On Monday night, the caretaker locked the door of his house and tried to protect him.
