Due to the coronavirus situation, the government will make the decision to grant an age exemption to candidates for government positions.

According to the Ministry of Public Function, the government has decided to give an opportunity to those who have turned 30 on March 25 of this year to apply for government positions.

The Minister of State for Public Administration, Farhad Hossain, confirmed the matter to The Daily Star on Tuesday, saying: “The Ministry of Public Administration has already sent a summary to the prime minister.” We hope to publish a newsletter about this soon.

He said that the Prime Minister was doing a lot to help various professionals due to the Kovid-19 epidemic.

He said: “Because of this, even though the age has passed 30 years, many people have not been able to apply for various government jobs, as the job advertisement has been closed since last March. When we raise this issue, the Prime Minister has ordered us to act immediately.

Sheikh Yusuf Harun, secretary of the ministry of public administration, told The Daily Star that they had sent a summary to the prime minister.

“All I can say is that I am trying to recover from the damage caused by the coronavirus,” he said.

He added: “Applicants who have crossed the age of 30 or 32 on March 25 will be able to apply for the job.”

Since mid-March of this year, due to the Kovid-19 epidemic, various activities in the country were suspended, including the recruitment process. As of March 26, a 7-day general holiday was declared throughout the country.
