The new startup HealthMode is powered by healthcare technology. The startup is cooperating in testing its new application ‘Cuffmod’. Users who install the application are required to send a recording of “cough”. After that, they will monitor their health by sending questions every week.
HealthMode will analyze the sound of cough based on the characteristics of time, intensity, waves, etc. of the vocabulary received in that grant and will compare it with the health data collected each week. Carlin said that the company wants to build a database like this.
The basic theory that works here is that the coronavirus infects the lungs differently. That is, it is different from other types of lung infections. “We’re still not sure what we’re really looking for, maybe it sounds a lot like pneumonia or something,” Carlin said. – Investigations are underway to find out.
The collected data will be safe, Carlin said. The app will not run in the background or monitor anyone else. Regarding privacy concerns, Carlin said: “We have not introduced any GPS or contact tracking at this stage, and we encourage users to participate without having to worry about privacy.”
Users will be alerted if cough from coronavirus infection is detected successfully.
The apps created by HealthMode startups have been used by people in laboratories and pharmaceutical companies. Now the organization is looking for volunteers for its recent program.
