Additional deputy police commissioner (crime) Abu Maruf Hossain told Prothom Alo that the girl was allegedly gang-raped during preliminary questioning. The girl said that a police officer named Raju was involved in the rape. However, Raju is also the nickname of ASI Raihanul from the DB Police. The girl had a relationship with him. However, it is still being investigated whether he (DB police ASI) raped her.
Police officer Abu Maruf Hossain added that DB Raihanul police officer was suspended on Sunday night. The victim’s father has filed a case against the two under the Women and Children Abuse Act at the Haragachh Police Station. The two defendants are DB agent Raihanul and a woman. They are being questioned in police custody.
