Burial of Kamal Ibn Yusuf at Faridpur

Baba Chowdhury was buried next to Yusuf Ali Mohan Miah’s grave at Moyez Manzil in Kamalapur district city on Friday.

Previously, Janaza was held on the Rajendra College campus around 3pm. Many people participated in the janaza standing in the surroundings beyond the university grounds.

After the janaza, various political and social organizations, including the Awami League, paid their last respects to him.

Chowdhury Kamal Ibne Yusuf died on October 8 at Ever Care Hospital in Dhaka. In early November 19, he was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia. Later he was diagnosed with coronavirus. They kept him on ventilation in the hospital for a week.

Kamal Ibn Yusuf, who served in the cabinet in Khaleda Zia’s two-term government, was 80 years old.

Chowdhury Nayab Yusuf, Deputy Secretary to his daughter Mahila Dal, has been elected Mayor of Faridpur Township by BNP. He lost.

Born on May 23, 1940 in Faridpur, Chowdhury Kamal Ibne Yusuf has gone to Parliament five times since the Faridpur-3 constituency.

His grandfather Chowdhury Moizuddin Biswas was a zamindar. And Baba Chowdhury Yusuf Ali (Mohan Mia) was the central leader of the Muslim League.

Kamal Ibne Yusuf, who joined BNP in 1979 under Ziaur Rahman, was the District Development Counselor (DDC). He was elected a member of Parliament for the first time in the 1979 parliamentary elections.

The BNP leader was the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development during the term of Judge Abdus Sattar. When Khaleda Zia formed the government after winning the 1991 parliamentary elections, he appointed Kamal Ibn Yusuf as Minister of Health.

Later, during the BNP-Jamaat coalition government in 2001, he was Minister for Disaster Relief and Management.

Chowdhury Kamal Ibn Yusuf is survived by his wife and four daughters. In a separate statement, BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman and Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed their regret at his death.

They expressed their condolences to the grieving relatives, as well as to the soul of the deceased.
