Tomorrow is the 55th anniversary of Bangladesh Television or BTV, the official media of Bangladesh. The company was launched on December 25, 1964 under the name Pakistan Television. Then, in the year following the birth of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Television began its journey as a government institution with a commitment to speak for the country, the land and the people.
In 1980, BTV entered a new era by gifting viewers with color screens. Now the network has expanded beyond the country through BTV World. This time the media have set foot in 56 years with the promise and conviction of a timely change to reach the audience. On this occasion, a press conference was organized at the BTV office in Rampura on December 24. BTV Managing Director SM Harun-ur-Rashid, Program Director and Managing Director Jagdish Esh, Deputy Managing Director (Program) Dr. were present here. Tasmina Ahmed, Deputy Director General (Message) Anup Khastgir, General Director of Dhaka Nasir Mahmud Center and other managers and producers.
At the press conference, Director General Harun-ur-Rashid said: “We are trying to guarantee the right of the people to information and the general demand for entertainment through various media. Television cannot be left behind; So in the 21st century, just like other televisions, we keep trying to be up to date. BTV has to provide opportunities to marginalized people all the time. Maybe that’s why the clay people and ceremonies are here for us. And it is the responsibility of Bangladesh Television to inspire positive change in public tastes. To do so, we are creating digital content and programs, which will be launched soon in this centennial year. BTV is trying to connect with new technologies. BTV programs are are becoming more and more modern and the number of human-friendly programs organized with a variety of topics is increasing. We focus on news and entertainment, as well as audience-friendly shows to connect viewers with more BTV.
The Director General further said: ‘Our television is the people’s television, our television is the state television, this television is the people’s television. That is why I urge everyone to give their opinion and participate in the different programs that are broadcast on this television. In this month of victory, we wish you all victory.
BTV continues to play an important role as a medium in the wake of this change. In 2020, BTV has launched some new shows. For example, the live program ‘Ei Samay’ on the latest information, management and treatment of the coronavirus is broadcast Monday through Friday at 6 p.m. The live program ‘Khabar Pratidin’ with daily news and news analysis is broadcast every day at 12 noon. Also, viewers have appreciated health inquiries, BTV dialogues, Nishi Gungun live song shows, Good Morning Bangladesh. Different forms of political talk show ‘Bangladesh Archives’, serial documentary ‘Nat Guru’ and live morning show ‘Shubh Sakal Bangladesh’ have been launched. The women talk about their various problems and solutions on the ‘Fifty Percent’ show. The district entertainment program “Be the Heart of Bangladesh” has started.
The problem is that Bangladesh Television will talk about you. Bangladesh Television has adopted a plan to make BTV more popular with the slogan “Change will change”.
On the occasion of the channel’s founding anniversary, although there was no major event during this difficult time of the Coronavirus, BTV officials and employees will celebrate the day on their own. The channel will broadcast the program live from 6pm to 8pm. This live show will be held from two studios. In addition to exchanging greetings, there are also cultural events.
