A young man named Istiaq Ahmed (30) was supposed to go to his father-in-law’s house to find his wife in Fatullah of Narayanganj. However, before the groom was sentenced, the police arrested him on the charge of raping a young woman at the temptation of marriage. Instead of going to his father-in-law’s house, he had to go to jail.
Istiaq Ahmed was sent to jail by the court on Friday (October 18) afternoon. Earlier on Thursday (October 15) evening, the police arrested him at the Gaye Halud ceremony in the West Deobhog Nagbari area of Fatullah. He is the son of Mizanur Rahman from the area.
According to sources in the case, Istiaq Ahmed had an affair with the girl four years ago. Subsequently, they had sex more than once. If they want to marry, the matter is known between the two families. However, Istiaq’s family did not accept the relationship. Later, when the young woman pressured him to marry, Istiaq decided to marry elsewhere with various excuses.
At one point, on October 14, the young woman learned that Istiaq was getting married elsewhere. Later on Thursday (October 15), he went to the Fatullah Model Police Station and filed a written complaint. Istiaq was yellow on Thursday and the wedding day was set for Friday. But the police arrested him during the yellow ceremony.
Istiaq claims that the young woman was unhappy with him. She had a love affair with him for three years. In three years, the lover had two sexual relations in his own home with the consent of both. He told his parents about his relationship. But her parents refused to accept the matter and arranged their marriage elsewhere. He informed his girlfriend about the matter. Even then, his girlfriend arrested him on rape charges.
Inspector of the Fatullah Model Police Station (investigation) Shafiqul Islam said that the police arrested Istiaq with the help of locals after receiving a complaint. He has been sent to jail through court for a rape case of his girlfriend.
