Khagrachari: Police have uncovered the motive for the robbery and gang rape at a hilltop house in Khagrachari. Nine professional thieves were involved in the incident and robbery and rape were their motives, said the Khagrachhari police superintendent. Abdul Aziz.

Police Superintendent Abdul Aziz told a press conference that after the Wednesday midnight incident, the police launched a massive operation and arrested six people from different areas of Khagrachhari and Chittagong. Money was recovered from them from the sale of gold, looted money and CNG and household weapons used in the robbery.

The rapist and thief arrested Sunday will be sent to jail through court. A mentally disabled woman who was gang-raped on Saturday afternoon was discharged from Sadar Hospital in Khagrachhari District. She was later sent home into the custody of her mother with a statement under Section 22 in court.
Details of the incident were highlighted at the press conference. The defendants are said to have met while in the district jail for various crimes. From there, they plotted the crime. They plan to surround a house in a secluded location in Khagrachhari’s Balpeiya Para.
Md. Amin is known to be the mastermind of this incident. According to him, GNC driver Shahin took Antar from Ramgarh and Iqbal from Jalliapara to Khagrachhari at 9.30pm. Saiful, Rashid, and Belal reached Khagrachhari from Matiranga around 10:30 pm on the way. At that time they had weapons that included knives, shovels, and slaves. When they reached Khagrachhari Zero Mile, Mulhota Amin and Halim joined them and spent time at various locations, including the bus stop, arriving at the location late at night.
When Shahin and Belal arrived at the scene and entered the house through the wall and opened the front door, the others entered. At that moment, Rashid and Halim took position at the door and Amin, Saiful and Belal tried to break the door of the house.
When the housewife woke up after hearing the noise, she went to the door and felt the presence of the thieves. When he screamed, the robbers quickly broke down the door with a shovel and entered the house. Immediately Iqbal, Farooq and Shaheen tied the hand and mouth of the housewife with the wire of the veil and the charger and hit her with the grill of the window.
The robbers entered the first room and tied up the sick householder. He looted the house and looted gold, cash, cell phones and cameras. In another room, Saiful, Antar, Amin, Farooq and GNC driver Shahin tied their hands and feet and raped the mentally disabled woman (28) more than once. After two hours of robbery and gang rape, they fled the home in a CNG autorickshaw parked in a nearby garage. Later in the morning, the locals came to the rescue of the housewife.
Later, the housewife brought two separate cases to the Khagrachhari Sadar Police Station for robbery and gang rape. Meanwhile, after the incident, the police divided into several teams and entered the field. 7 people were arrested in different areas. There are still two fugitives. The police are carrying out an operation to catch them.
Khagrachhari Police Superintendent Mohammad Abdul Aziz said there were four cases on behalf of Iqbal, three on behalf of Amin, one on behalf of Shaheen and two on behalf of Antar. An operation is underway to catch the other two fugitives.
Chittagong Range DIG said. Anwar Hossain said the incident was planned. There was no community incitement. But some have tried to make the incident common. We discovered the real culprits in the case within 48 hours.
