Previously, in 1994, James Kellman won the Booker Award for his book How Let It Be, How Let. About the book, Stuart said that Kelman’s book changed his life. Because for the first time he saw his people and their words on the pages of a book.

The book ‘Shugi Bain’ is based on the teenage Shugi, a girl who cares for a drug addicted mother. Stuart dedicated the book to his mother. His mother died when he was 18 years old.

Stuart was stunned by the response upon winning the award. He thanked his mother. “I’ve made it clear on every page of the book on motherhood,” she said. I couldn’t have come here without him. My work never got here.

Skatalyandabasikeo Stewart thanked the residents of Glasgow. He said that the empathy, humor, love and struggle of the people of Glasgow are in every word of this book.

Stuart grew up in Glasgow and now lives in New York, reports the BBC. Working as a fashion designer, Stuart completed his second novel, Lock A, earlier this year, set in Glasgow.

The UK awards the Man Booker Prize for Literature every year. This award is given to the best original novel written in English. This award has been awarded since 1989.
