The students began protesting from midnight on February 18 in protest of the attack. The Barisal-Kuakata highway was blocked as part of the program. A meeting with the police administration was held at the university on February 18 at noon. The blockade of the road was lifted around 5 in the afternoon with the condition of meeting the demand of the three points.

The agitated students said police had not yet arrested the main culprits in the attack. The students held a press conference last Thursday night and asked the university administration to file a case with the names of the identified attackers.

Student accusations: Kawshar Hossain Shipon, secretary of labor affairs of the Mahanagar Awami League and general secretary of the Barisal-Patuakhali Minibus Owners Association, Rafiqul Islam Manik, president of the Paribahan Sramik Union and local activist of the Awami Mamun Mia League led the barbarian attack on the students at midnight on Tuesday. Firoz (24) was detained by the police. Transport workers have been protesting on the road in front of the Rupatali bus stop since 9 am demanding the release of the two workers. As a result, bus services from Barisal to Barguna, Patuakhali, Bhola, Pirojpur, Jhalokati, Bagerhat and 16 other southern routes were suspended.

Barisal University Supervisor Subrata Kumar Das said the students blocked the road demanding the arrest of the attackers. Attempts are being made to resolve the problem by arguing with them.

Kotwali police, OC Nurul Islam, said that two workers involved in the attack on the students had been arrested. Several police teams are working to identify and arrest the rest of the accused. However, the attackers went into hiding to avoid arrest. That is why it is taking time to arrest them. Hopefully it will soon be possible to stop the attackers.
