Awami League Secretary General Obaidul Quader has said BNP leaders have no statement of their own. He said BNP leaders read the message sent from the banks of the River Thames like parrots. His Naya Paltan office is a rumor mill, creating a wall of mistrust among the BNP leaders themselves in the propaganda message coming from that factory.
He made the remarks at a regular briefing at his official residence on Sunday morning.
Commenting on the storm of movement in the media, the secretary general of the Awami League said that in reality BNP leaders do not stay on the streets.
Criticizing BNP leaders, he further said that in the statement, BNP leaders expressed their desire to lay down their lives for Khaleda Zia, but people did not see a procession of 500 people in Dhaka city for her release.
Obaidul Quader also said that they have done more politics than releasing and treating their leader.
When mentioning that BNP leaders were afraid of the roads and movement, the bridge minister said that now they are also afraid of the people.
He said BNP is now spinning in a circle of fear due to isolation.
Criticizing BNP’s failure to fight, Obaidul Quader said: “Despite having a huge 500-member committee, people have realized the power of the backbone of those who cannot hold a great procession.” That is why they do not vote in elections.
