Awami League Secretary General and Minister of Road Transport and Bridges, Obaidul Quader, has urged BNP to wait until the next parliamentary elections if the government wants change.
He said that the government was changed through elections in a democratic system of government, adding that there was no situation of change of government in the country by movement. If BNP thinks it will reach the golden gate of power down the back alley, then it is living in a fool’s paradise.
Obaidul Quader said this at a progress review meeting for the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project being rolled out from Gazipur to Dhaka Airport on Tuesday. Obaidul Quader joined the meeting via videoconference from his official residence.
The Minister of Road Transport urged law enforcement agencies to play an active role in the issue of non-compliance with hygiene rules in public transport. It also ordered the BRTA and the district administration to continue mobile court activities to discipline roads, including preventing violations of conditions throughout the country.
