Dhaka: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi, Emir of Hefazat-e-Islam and longtime CEO of Hathazari Bara Madrasa in Chittagong.
In a message of condolence on Friday (September 16) evening, Mirza Fakhrul described the late Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi as one of the world’s best scholars of Islamic thought and described his death as an irreparable loss to fellow countrymen.
The BNP secretary general said that Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi, a prominent Islamic thinker and eminent scholar in the country, was deprived of obtaining the correct direction of this world and the hereafter. He has spoken in the way that the Qur’an-Hadith has instructed to guide people. Humility, modesty and courtesy were his instincts. As an Islamic thinker, he was highly respected. With the death of Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi, the country’s renowned Islamic thinker, the country lost a dedicated and renowned scholar, which is not easy to accomplish.
In his message of condolence, the BNP General Secretary conveyed his deepest condolences to the grieving family, admirers, fans and supporters of Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi.
