BNP Salahuddin candidate will not be able to cast his vote

The by-election for the Dhaka-5 constituency will be held on Saturday (October 16). Saladin Ahmed is the candidate for this position. You will not be able to vote even if you are a candidate. Because Saladin is not a voter for this seat. He is a voter for the Dhaka-4 parliamentary seat.

According to BNP sources, Salahuddin Ahmed was elected candidate for the Dhaka-4 constituency on December 30. At that time, he transferred his vote from Dhaka-5 to the Dhaka-4 constituency. Before the election, he asked the Election Commission to transfer his vote from the Dhaka-4 constituency to Dhaka-5 again. But due to lack of time, the commission said it was not possible to transfer their vote before the elections.

Incidentally, Nabi Ullah Nabi, Vice President of the Dhaka Metropolitan BNP, ran as a BNP candidate in the Dhaka-5 constituency in the eleventh parliamentary elections. But this time BNP did not nominate him in the by-elections. Previously, Salahuddin Ahmed had run from Dhaka-5 in the ninth parliamentary elections of 2008.

Salahuddin Ahmed’s son Tanvir Ahmed Robin, the organizing secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan South BNP, told the Bengali Tribune: “If the elections are fair, his father will win by a large margin.” Voters are looking for opportunities to vote on rice husks. But the administration has not been neutral since the election campaign. They are working on behalf of the Awami League candidate. He complained to the Electoral Commission but did not obtain any remedy.

Kazi Monirul Islam Manu is running as a candidate of the Awami League in the by-elections of the Dhaka-5 constituency. He told the Bengali Tribune: “You will cast your vote tomorrow at 10:30 am at Jatrabari Ideal School and College.”

There are 14 districts in the Dhaka-5 constituency. This seat with Motijheel (partial), Jatrabari, Demra and Kadamtali (partial). The total number of voters in this constituency is 4 lakh 61,129. Of these, 2 lakh 29,885 are female voters and 2 lakh 41,474 are male voters. There are 17 polling stations in the Dhaka-5 constituency. The number of booths is 1,095. Voting will be carried out by means of an electronic voting machine (EVM). Following sanitary regulations, continuous voting will take place from 9 am to 5 pm.
