BNP Vice President and Journalist Leader Shawkat Mahmud, who received notice of the show’s cause, responded to the show’s cause. Major (retired) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, another vice president of the party, did not reply. He called a press conference on Saturday.

These two senior BNP leaders have been accused of anti-party activities.

They were mourned Monday night. The party’s deputy general secretary, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, signed the notice.

According to a source in the BNP office, they have been accused of being involved in anti-disciplinary activities by deceptive leaders and workers using the party’s name. Shawkat Mahmud has been asked to respond in writing to the central office within 72 hours and Hafiz Uddin Ahmed within five days to explain why no organizational action will be taken against them.

Shawkat Mahmood responded to the cause of the show within the stipulated time. On Wednesday evening, his personal assistant Abdul Momin delivered the response to the cause of the show at the BNP headquarters in Naya Paltan. According to sources close to Shawkat Mahmood, he has given his answer in three lines. He wrote that he was not consciously involved in any anti-disciplinary activity outside of the ideology of the nationalist party, outside of party decisions. Even then, you regret being involved in any work without your knowledge.

He has been accused of being associated with the ‘government change movement’ without abiding by the party’s decision. It has been rumored for some time that various political parties and some professional leaders, including the BNP, Jamaat, Unitary Front and the Left, have come together to demand the fall of the government. Therefore, December 14 was chosen as the day. At the last minute, Tarique Rahman gave a strong message to party leaders and workers not to participate in this program. However, Hafiz Uddin and Shawkat Mahmud joined the process without following the party’s decision. That is why they lamented.

According to party sources, a procession left the National Press Club on Monday without informing the High Command and took a position in Muktang. Shawkat Mahmud was in the procession. The rally was preceded by a rally at the National Press Club. For this reason, he is charged with non-compliance with discipline.

The notice sent to Hafiz Uddin said that he could not do so even if he was given the responsibility of dividing the party during the One-Eleven and becoming general secretary. Furthermore, he has spoken disrespectfully to senior party leaders at different times.

Although Shawkat Mahmood responded to the show, Major (Retd.) Hafeez did not respond until Thursday. He told Jugantar about it: “I will give my statement through a press conference at my residence in Banani on Saturday (tomorrow) at 11 am.” A leader close to him said that Hafizuddin would send his reply in writing to BNP headquarters after informing the media. You can announce your retirement from the policy. However, a section of the BNP is trying to keep him away from the press conference.

Shawkat Mahmud, former chairman of the National Press Club and a branch of the Federal Union of Journalists of Bangladesh, was appointed vice chairman of the party at the sixth BNP national council in 2016. Previously, he was a member of the advisory council to the president of BNP.

And Major (Retd.) Hafiz is a former minister in the BNP government. He has been vice president of the party for a long time.
