Dhaka: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that BNP does not believe in terrorism. The BNP continues to participate in all elections because it believes in democracy.
He made the remarks at a protest rally in front of the National Press Club on Saturday (November 14) protesting the ‘vote theft’ in the by-elections in Dhaka-17 and Sirajganj-1.
Mirza Fakhrul said that the government had deliberately destroyed the electoral system. Not only the electoral system, they have also destroyed the democratic system.
He said that the Electoral Commission has become an incompetent institution. Since the elections of December 30, 2016, I have seen that all elections held under this government have been looted through the Electoral Commission. The confidence of the people in the Electoral Commission has been reduced to zero. Evidence of this was found in the presence of the people at the voting station.
Fakhrul said that the Chief Elections Commissioner said that the Election Commission of Bangladesh is better than the Election Commission of the United States. Since they cannot announce the election results in 5 days, we can announce the results in five minutes. You can, because your results are already prepared. So you announce it.
The chief election commissioner and election commissioners are not even ashamed. If they had been embarrassed, they would have resigned long ago. They are working entirely under the government. ‘
The protest rally was chaired by BNP Deputy Secretary General Habib Un Nabi Khan Sohail, President Advisor Aman Ullah Aman, Organizational Secretary Syed Imran Saleh Prince, Advertising Secretary Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, Member Secretary from Krishak Dal, farmer Hasan Jafir Tuhin, BNP climate secretary Member of the Executive Committee Akramul Hasan Mintu, Swachchasebak Dal Senior Deputy Secretary General Saiful Islam Firoz, Chhatra Dal Senior Vice President Kazi Raunkul Islam Shravan, Vice President Ashraful Alam Lincoln, Hafizur Rahman , Organizing Secretary Saif Mahmud Jewel Etc.
