Meanwhile, on the night of Raihan’s murder, the victim’s wife filed a case with the Sylhet Kotwali Police Station charging some unidentified people. Later, the case was handed over to PBI. PBI began its investigation on Tuesday, October 14. The following day, with the permission of the district judge, Raihan’s body was exhumed from the grave and a second autopsy was performed. A week later, the report was delivered yesterday.

Transfer of Commissioner Golam Kibria: Commissioner of the Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP), Golam Kibria, was transferred by notification of the Department of Public Security of the Ministry of the Interior. In the same notification, the transfer or destination of another 16 police officers was ordered. By mentioning “public interest” in the notice as the reason for the transfer, it has been ordered to take effect immediately. Golam Kibria was appointed SMP Commissioner on November 26, 2016.
