Sources further said that in the 1980s, Kashem Raja was assassinated by Myanmar spies in the Inani mountainous area of Ukhia. Later, the eldest son of Rohingya leader Raja Shah Alam took the helm of the family. However, instead of actively fighting for the Rohingya like his father, he focused on reuniting the family.
