The governor took the oath of Nitish in Raj Bhavan on Monday. The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) had announced a boycott before the swearing-in ceremony.
That is why none of Tejaswi Yadav’s party members were present at the swearing-in ceremony. On the other hand, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh along with Amit Shah and JP Nadda from alliance partner Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) attended the swearing-in ceremony.
The final results of the Bihar assembly elections were announced on 10 November. The BJP, the main ally of the NDA alliance and the ruling party in the center, had previously said that Nitish Kumar of the JDU (Janata United Party) would be prime minister if he won the election.
The party has fulfilled that promise by appointing Nitish as Chief Minister. This is Nitish’s fourth consecutive time in office. However, this time he became the Chief Minister of Bihar with the help of the BJP.
Because this is the first time that Nitish’s party has fewer seats than BJP and RJD. RJD got 85, BJP 64, JDU 43.
According to The Indian Express, the NDA won 125 seats in the 243-member assembly. And two smaller partners, Ham and VIP, each got four seats. The BJP has appointed Nitish as Chief Minister in the interest of the NDA.
This time there are two deputy ministers posted in Bihar. According to Anandabazar, the senior deputy ministers are Tarakishore Prasad and Renu Devi of BJP. This is the first time in Bihar history that an MLA woman has become Senior Vice Minister.
