Democratic candidate Joe Biden is ahead of current President Donald Trump in popular and electoral votes.
The last Biden Popular vote received 5 crore 59 lakh 11,060 votes, which is 49.6 percent of total votes.
On the other hand, Trump Popular got 5 crore 50 lakh 36,648 votes, which is 48.49 percent of the total votes.
The candidate who gets the popular vote no matter how much he wins, the candidate has to get 270 electoral votes.
According to the New York Times, Biden received 213 electoral votes and Trump received 139.
According to Al Jazeera, Biden received 223 electoral votes and Trump received 145 electoral votes.
In the United States, Donald Trump leads 20 of the 50 states in the preliminary vote count and Biden leads in 18.
Trump’s leading states include Florida, Alabama, Arkansas, Indiana, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, South Carolina, and West Virginia.
Biden’s leading states include New York, New Jersey, New Mexico, California, Colorado, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Virginia, and Washington.
Additionally, Trump and Biden are in close positions in the eight states that have counted the votes so far.
Of the remaining 11, 3 have yet to be counted.
