Dhaka: The Foreign Ministry said there are all kinds of facilities for the Rohingya in Bhasanchar.

The ministry said in a statement on Friday (December 4) that Bhasanchar Island has been modernized for the Rohingya.

The area of ​​this island is 13 thousand acres. Bhasanchar has all the modern conveniences, fresh water all year round, beautiful lakes, improved infrastructure and facilities. There is uninterrupted supply of electricity and water, agricultural land, cyclone shelters, two hospitals, four community clinics, mosques, telecommunications services, entertainment, training centers, playgrounds.

The floating coal carcass for the Rohingya is made of concrete to withstand natural disasters such as cyclones and tides. The cyclone struck Ampan Bhasanchar but did not cause any damage to the structure of the house. Bhasanchar has 1,440 houses and 120 shelters. The island is connected to the mainland by waterways. The Bangladeshi government has secured an adequate supply of food, as well as health and medical facilities for the Rohingya in Bhasanchar.

Adequate security has been ensured on the island through the deployment of police officers, including policewomen. The Bhasanchar area is completely covered by closed-circuit television cameras, the Foreign Ministry said.

Despite opposition from various international organizations, including Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International, 1,842 Rohingya were sent to Bhasanchar in the first phase on Friday.
