Anisul’s older brother, Rezaul Karim, said that Anisul Karim Shipon was the youngest of two brothers and two sisters. Father Faizuddin Ahmed is a heroic freedom fighter. His home is in the Aral village of Sammania union in Gazipur’s Kapasia upazila.
However, they have been living in the Baruda area of Gazipur City Corporation for about 40 years. Anisul passed the SSC in 2000 from the Rani Bilas Moni government school for boys in the district city. After that, he passed HSC from Kazi Azim Uddin College and completed his Master’s Degree in batch 33 in the Department of Biochemistry and Inspirational Sciences at Jahangirnagar University. Rezaul also said that Anisul Karim Shipon married Sharmin Sultana in 2011. Their only son is four-year-old Safran.
Mentioning that Shipon was very depressed, he said that even though he was under a lot of stress, he never said anything to anyone. He has had some mental problems for the last few days. He (Rezaul Karim) and his sister took him to Mind Aid Hospital in the Adabar area of Dhaka around 11:30 am on Monday.
He said that while the intake form was being filled out at the hospital’s emergency department counter, some employees dragged him into a two-story room. There they killed him. But after a while they were informed that Anisul was unconscious. Relatives then rushed him to the Heart Institute. There, the doctor examined Anisul and pronounced her dead.
Anisul’s father, Faizuddin Ahmed, has filed a case with the Adabar police station.
Rezaul claimed that Anisul Karim had been “murdered” and demanded punishment for those guilty through a proper investigation and trial.
Protests demanding justice
The Kapasia Upazila Aral area of Gazipur The killers of Anisul Karim Shipon have been demanding justice for the killers wearing black insignia, human chains and demonstrations.
The programs were held in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office on Bhawal Rajbari Road around 11am on Wednesday.
Kapasia Upazila President Amanat Hossain Khan, Councilor Hasan Ajmal Bhuiyan, Ayesha Begum and people from different walks of life participated in the program organized by Shipon’s partner, students from Jahangirnagar University, colleagues from the local school and from the university and locals.
Speakers at the rally demanded a speedy trial and punishment of the guilty. They requested the intervention of the Prime Minister and the Minister of the Interior in this matter.
