A three-year-seven-month-old niece has been raped in Feni’s Chagalnaiya upazila after showing greed for potato chips. Police arrested the boy’s own uncle, Emon Farooq Badshah, in the incident.
The home of the arrested Emon Farooq Badshah is in the Mahamaya Union of Chagalnaiya.
According to the police, he went to bathe Emon with rice at his home on October 5 at noon. At that time the little niece was playing in the house. Emon lured the girl to buy potato chips without eating rice and raped her. At one point, when the people of the house approached the boy’s cry, the king fled. The boy was subsequently admitted to the Feni Modern Sadar Hospital with serious injuries.
The victim’s mother filed a case under the Prevention of Abuse of Women and Children Act at the Chagalnaiya Police Station on Thursday night. Later on Friday afternoon, his family called Emon, who was fleeing Sonagazi Upazila, to Chagalnaiya and handed him over to the police.
The Chagalnaiya Police Officer in Charge (OC) said. Mezbah Uddin Ahmed said that Emon Farooq Badshah will be sent to court on Saturday morning and a request for pretrial detention will be made.
