Berger’s profit increases 35% in the third quarter

The multinational company reported its unaudited earnings on its website on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Wednesday.

Listed in various sectors, the company posted a profit of Tk 19.45 per share in the third quarter (October-December), compared to Tk 14.38 per share in the previous quarter.

Berger Paints told DSE that lower raw material prices and general cost controls have boosted profits. Furthermore, sales have also increased.

However, the return on investment has decreased due to lower interest rates. Although sales increased, cash flow per share decreased as cash collection declined.

As a result, the profit has increased by 5 taka 9 paise or 35.44 percent.

The multinational company Berger Paints made a profit of Rs 37.03 per share in nine months, compared with Rs 34.97 per share in the same period last year.

As a result, the profit has increased by 1 taka 7 paise or 3.3 percent.

Berger Paints Bangladesh’s share price has risen despite reports of rising earnings.

While the stock was trading at Tk 1,549.30 on Tuesday on the Dhaka capital market, on Wednesday it was trading at Tk 1,570.20.

Shares of the company, which was listed on the stock exchange in 2008, are currently traded in category ‘A’.

In fiscal year 2016-17, Berger Paints Limited made a profit of Tk 16 crore 69 lakh. Dividends were paid at Rs 20 per share and an additional 100 new shares for every 100 shares.

In the 2018-19 fiscal year, Berger Paints Limited made a profit of Rs 204.06 crore Tk. The dividend was 25 rupees per share.

In the financial year 2019-20, Berger Paints Limited made a profit of Tk 242.21 crore. The dividend was 29 rupees 50 paise per share.

The company has 4 crore 63 lakh 7 thousand 60 shares in the capital market. Of this, 95 percent is in the hands of the directors.

Furthermore, institutional investors have 2.96% of the shares, foreigners 65% of the shares and general investors 1.29% of the shares.

The current market capitalization of Berger Paints is Tk 6,165.32 crore. The paid-in capital of the company is Tk 46.36 crore; The reserve amount is 900 crore 8 lakh rupees.
