Before arriving in the United States, Shakib heard the news of the death of his father-in-law

Shakib Al Hasan will not play in Khulna Jamcon’s final at the Bangabandhu T20 Cup. He flew to the United States on Monday (December 14) because his father-in-law was ill.

Mamtaz Ahmed, 72, the father of his wife Umme Shishir, died at noon on Wednesday (December 16). Shakib’s father-in-law’s house is at Khidirpur Manohardi junction in Narsingdi. Mumtaz Ahmed breathed his last in America.

The 33-year-old all-rounder returned to competitive cricket after overcoming a one-year ban with the Bangabandhu T20 Cup. However, Shakib was his own shadow in the tournament. Only 110 runs came from his bat in 9 games. He took 8 wickets with the ball.

Shakib’s team Khulna will face Gazi Group Chittagong in the final on Friday (December 16).
