Muhtamim Maulana Nur Hossain Kasemi from Jamia Madania Baridhara Madrasa has been nominated as Senior Vice President of the Bangladesh Board of Education Qaumi Madrasa Befaq.
Furthermore, Muhtamim Maulana Mahfuzul Haque of Jamia Rahmania Arabia Mohammadpur has been elected Acting Secretary General.
Previously, Muhtamim Allama Mahmudul Hasan of Jatrabari Madrasa was elected the first acting president.
Amela was elected president and general secretary by direct vote of the members in the Befaq Majlis in Kajla in the capital’s Jatrabari on Saturday.
Subsequently, Acting President Allama Mahmudul Hasan nominated Maulana Noor Hossain Qasemi to the position of Senior Vice President.
Relevant sources said that around 125 members were present at the meeting. According to the count of the polls, Allama Mahmudul Hasan obtained 64 votes.
Allama Nur Hossain Qasemi obtained 50 votes.
Maulana Mahfuzul Haque obtained 60 votes for the post of general secretary. His closest rival, Maulana Muslehuddin Raju, got 40 votes.
Mufti Waqqas, Vice President of BEFAC, has been appointed Chief Elections Commissioner.
Also present were Maulana Nurul Islam Jihadi, Muhtamim from Makhjanul Ulum Madrasa in Khilgaon, Allama Nurul Islam Olipuri, Muhtamim from Noor Medina in Habiganj Shayestaganj Madrasa and Allama Zafar Ahmed, Muhtamim from Dhalkanagar Madrasa.
According to sources, according to the constitution of Al-Hayatul Uliya Lil Jamiatil Qawmiya Bangladesh, the highest body recognized by the government of Qawmi Madrasa, the chairman of Befaq will be Al-Hayatul Uliya.
